Technical focus
Stop letting internal gear cutting be the bottleneck of your production line. The Nobeve W -Series is engineered to replace slow reciprocating shaping and expensive broaching.
Skiving vs. Shaping Leveraging the continuous cutting kinetics of Power Skiving, the W-Series outperforms traditional shaping by significantly reducing cycle times.
Turn-Mill Integration Compatible with Mill-Turn centers, these cutters enable "Done-in-One" manufacturing.
Solid Carbide Core Built from a dense Tungsten-Cobalt substrate, the W-Series offers superior hardness compared to PM-HSS.
Access Complex Profiles Available in cylindrical and conical profiles, the W-Series excels at machining gears with interference contours or limited over-travel clearance.
Expert Technical FAQ
Yes. By switching to our W-Series, you can utilize cutting speeds of 120–300 m/min. Unlike the reciprocating stroke of shaping, Power Skiving is a continuous process that typically increases production throughput by 3x to 5x for internal gears while maintaining DIN AA precision.
Absolutely. We recommend our Conical W-Series cutters. Their specific conical geometry creates the necessary clearance to machine gears with small cross-axis angles (interference angles) without colliding with the workpiece shoulder.
Yes. This is a key advantage over skiving. The Conical W-Series design allows for a flexible cross-axis angle, enabling you to machining stepped gears right next to a larger gear or shaft shoulder where a standard large-diameter hob would physically interfere.
Rigidity is key. The W-Series uses a high-hardness Tungsten-Cobalt substrate, which requires a stable machining environment. We strongly recommend using rigid, direct-drive CNC spindles to prevent vibration (chatter), which is the primary cause of chipping.
Yes,but we dont't recommend it . Dry cutting with W-series has strictly requirement with the machine tool. Skiving involves high sliding friction, and high-pressure oil is essential to lubricate the cutting edge and flush away chips immediately to protect the BALINIT® ALTENSA coating.
We recommend a cutting speed (Vc) of 120–300 m/min and a feed rate of 0.2–0.5 mm/rev. These parameters optimize the performance of the carbide substrate, balancing thermal stability with efficient material removal.
Yes. To save on logistics, we do not require shipping tools back. Instead, we provide a full Technical Data Package (DXF profiles and edge preparation specs) with every order, allowing your local coating center to restore the tool to Nobeve factory standards.
Yes. The W-Series is designed for both dedicated Power Skiving machines and Turn-Mill composite machines. This allows you to complete turning and gear cutting in a single setup (“Done-in-One”), minimizing run-out errors.

“Nobeve’s W-Series slashed our cycle times a lot compared to traditional shaping. Running at 250m/min with oil cooling, these tools maintain DIN AA precision consistently. A highly recommended solution for stable, high-speed power skiving setups.”

“We struggled with a compact shaft design until Nobeve provided a custom Conical W-Series cutter. The specific conical geometry provided the necessary clearance to avoid shoulder collisions. Even on 20CrMnTi, the solid carbide remains tough with no micro-chipping.”

Customer
“The W-Series’ throughput justifies the investment. At 180m/min, the Tungsten-Cobalt alloy maintains exceptional edge retention with significantly fewer tool changes per shift. For high-volume lines, the improved machine uptime makes this a much more cost-effective solution than traditional PM-HSS.”
